The Alberta government has earmarked $100 million as interest-free loans to Alberta municipalities for energy efficiency projects. This program is called ME first! and is part of the Alberta government's action plan on climate change. The program is aimed at projects that will achieve energy savings, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and replace conventional energy sources with renewable or alternative sources.
