Experience:
Carbon Busters® (CBI) has conducted over 600 building audits, and has saved its clients in North America and Europe over $24.5 million and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by over 70 million kilograms through comprehensive energy management programs. CBI’s senior auditors are among the most experienced found in Western Canada.
Staff Qualifications:
CBI’s staff has training in a multitude of specialties which include engineering, HVAC, utility data tracking and analysis, green building design and LEED®, education, psychology, sociology, political science, and biology. Two staff members are LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professionals.
Savings:
Carbon Busters saves more! The average savings for our self-funding program from 1993 to 2007 were $2.57/m2/year, or $11,561 per building per year assuming an average building size of 4,500 m2. Furthermore we have proven that the implementation of the Kyoto Protocol will not result in huge costs, but will instead produce savings. Our self-funding programs alone have saved our clients over 24.5 million dollars and counting.
Choices:
Some energy auditors focus almost exclusively on recommending expensive large scale projects to their clients or restrict themselves to only a single sector, e.g. lighting. At Carbon Busters we take a more balanced approach, including numerous recommendations for efficiency measures and small projects as well as large ones. We look at the whole picture including HVAC, building envelope, process loads, DHW, lighting, equipment, plug loads, water, sewer and solid waste. Our attention to detail and the scope of our audits means that clients are presented with a wide range of savings opportunities and can select tnose that best suit their budgets and priorities. Since several of our recommendations typically have paybacks of one year or less, clients can begin implementation and start saving energy and money immediately.
