Carbon Busters Inc. is a leading company in the area of greenhouse gas emissions reduction through energy conservation and environmental education.
We have taken up the challenge of making a significant contribution to the recovery of our planet. With our Carbon Busters for Schools Program we are achieving this goal. Through environmental education and an increase in energy efficiency in public buildings, Carbon Busters, together with the building users, is effecting a drastic reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Carbon Busters was founded by Eckhart Stoyke in October, 1992 as EEC Energy and Environmental Consulting Inc. The staff of Carbon Busters have been working on projects in Germany, Luxembourg, Canada and the United States since 1993.
In 2003 Carbon Busters was responsible for 319 German schools and other public buildings in Augsburg, Glinde, Lauenburg, Lübeck, Neuss, Potsdam, Norden and the districts of Stormarn and Rheingau-Taunus. In Alberta, Canada, three school districts with a total of 33 schools are in the program. Participating buildings save a yearly average of 12.3% in electricity, 9.1% in heating costs and 31.3% in water. To date, running costs were lowered by a total of CDN$18.2 million. Emissions of carbon dioxide have been reduced by over 52,071 tonnes.
