Carbon Busters® Inc. is a leading company in the area of greenhouse gas emissions reduction through green building and community design, energy conservation and environmental education.
We have taken up the challenge of making a significant contribution to the recovery of our planet. With our Carbon Busters for Schools Program we are achieving this goal. Through environmental education and an increase in energy efficiency in public buildings, Carbon Busters, together with the building users, is effecting a drastic reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Carbon Busters was founded by engineer Eckhart Stoyke in October, 1992 as EEC Energy and Environmental Consulting Inc. The staff of Carbon Busters have been working on projects in Europe, Canada and the United States since 1993.
In 2003 Carbon Busters was responsible for 319 German schools and public buildings in Augsburg, Glinde, Lauenburg, Lübeck, Neuss, Potsdam, Norden and the districts of Stormarn and Rheingau-Taunus. At the same time in Alberta, Canada, three school districts with a total of 33 schools were participating in the program. Participating buildings save a yearly average of 12.3% in electricity, 9.1% in heating costs and 31.3% in water. To date, clients' utitlity costs have been reduced by a total of over $24.5 million. Emissions of carbon dioxide have been reduced by more than 70,000 metric tonnes.
