President, Green Consultant and Carbon Buster®

Godo Stoyke is a green consultant and award-winning environmental researcher specializing in energy efficiency and zero carbon design for new and existing buildings. As President of Carbon Busters, Godo has helped reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 70 million kilograms CO2e and utility costs by over $24.5 million for its North American and European clients.

Godo's second book,The Carbon Buster's Home Energy Handbook, released by New Society Publishers is now available in local book stores across North America. Home owners can cut their carbon by 73% and save over $17,800 over five years with the Handbook and evaluates which measures yield the highest returns for the environment and the pocketbook.
Godo is a member of the Alberta Chapter of the Canadian Green Building Council, and has been a LEED® accredited professional since 2004.
Godo received both a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and a Master of Science in Botany from the University of Alberta. His course work included classes at the Institute for Social Ecology in Vermont with ecological philosopher Murray Bookchin, and studies at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory in Colorado with well known resource ecologist Paul Ehrlich.
His research has been published in international peer reviewed scientific journals, including the Canadian Journal of Botany and Arctic, Antarctic and Alpine Research. Godo is the recipient of the1991 Lionel Cinq-Mars Award of the Canadian Botanical Association.
Godo has worked as the Director of the Ministik Hills Field Study Centre and Director of the award winning Environmental Education and Nature Interpretation Program (NIP) at the University of Alberta Devonian Botanic Garden.
Godo is a specialist in designing and benchmarking green systems and has designed his own solar home, with power consumption 15 times lower than the Alberta average. His numerous environmental publications include: Applied Ecology - The Newsletter of Environmental Solutions and the his first book, The Environmental School Program - A Teacher's Guide (available at the DBG). Godo has recently completed writing his third book, The Carbon Charter: a blueprint for a carbon free future, which is due out in May 2009.
