Program Implementation:

Following is an example of some of the first steps in the Carbon Busters Program.

1. Signing of contract.
2. District gathers utility consumption data and related information required for the calculation of the base year and the savings results.
3. Carbon Busters sends letter to all participating schools.
4. Carbon Busters conducts a one-hour introductory presentation for students and staff in every school. Carbon Busters forms Green Teams, selects a "key teacher" and distributes curricular support materials.
5. Carbon Busters energy experts conduct energy audits in the presence of the custodians and/or maintenance staff. Audit reports with efficiency recommendations are sent to each school.
6. Carbon Busters holds the first training workshop for custodians.
