Carbon Busters®' staff has training in a multitude of specialties including engineering, HVAC, utility data tracking and analysis, green building design and LEED®, education, psychology, sociology, political science, and biology. Two staff members are LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professionals. To date Carbon Busters Inc. has conducted over 600 building audits, saved its clients in North America and Europe over $24.5 million and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by over 70 million kilograms through our comprehensive energy management programs for schools. CBI’s senior auditors are among the most experienced found in Canada.
Approach:
Carbon Busters employs a multi-faceted integrated approach to energy savings. Other programs may offer a single service such as only environmental education or only building retrofits. We combine these and other relevant services within a single comprehensive package.
Results:
Carbon Busters saves more! Our average savings since 1993 amount to $2.57/m2/year, or about $11,560/building/year assuming an average building size of 4,500 m2. Furthermore we have proven that the implementation of the Kyoto Protocol will not result in huge costs, but rather in increased efficiency, increased comfort and huge savings. To date our self-funding programs alone have achieved savings of over 24.5 million dollars for our clients, proving that reducing greenhouse gas emissions is not only practical, but profitable.
Cost:
The self-financing option we offer eliminates any significant costs to the district. Since payment to Carbon Busters consists solely of a portion of the savings, administrators have an iron-clad guarantee that net costs to the district will be zero. Within the framework of the self-financing program, modest retrofits and upgrades can be carried out without incurring any borrowing costs since they are financed totally from the savings that have already been achieved by means of no-cost measures. No other program offers this opportunity.
Service:
Carbon Busters focuses on client satisfaction. We work as an independent energy consulting service without affiliation with other companies or suppliers. Consequently, we make objective recommendations tailored to the situation and requirements of each school district. As a result, most of our clients have extended their contracts with us at the conclusion of the initial five-year Carbon Busters Program.
